On March 2nd, Meredith Foster of Girl Scouts of America gave a presentation discussing the different aspects of running a non-profit organization.
The fist topic Foster highlighted was that in a non-profit, there are no large budgets. Due to this, non-profit employees must always be thinking on their feet and must be able to fill a wide range of job needs.
Another point that Foster stressed was to know your demographic by finding the best possible ways to keep them informed, things that encourage them to be a part of Girl Scouts, and best possible way to sustain a positive public image.
The last thing that Foster mentioned was to build a strong resume to show future companies what you have done and what you are capable of. Start building that resume now! Don’t wait before its too late.
