A Struggle with Social Responsibilities

Social responsibilities are expected by the public from corporations. Most corporate executives agree that this should be a priority in their company. The problem is many corporations face challenges with the issues and the public.

Chapter 11 lists some of the challenges corporations might face.

                 The issues are not static.

                 The prorities vary among publics.

                 The problems are complex and not easily solved.

                 It can be difficult to satisfy the public’s expectations.

Corporations have to develop logical approaches to corporate giving such as targeting contribution to specific areas and remembering that more than money may be needed. Corporations can help by sponsoring events and doing cause-related marketing.
